UPD Interior Design Graduate Tops 2026 Licensure Examination for Interior DesignersJuly 22, 2026

UP Diliman's College of Home Economics emerged as the top-performing institution in the 2026 Licensure Examination for Interior Designers (LEID), posting a 100% passing rate as all 19 graduates of the BS Interior Design program successfully passed the examination. The University also produced the topnotcher and four other top 10 placers, underscoring the strength of its Interior Design program.

Leading the passers was Diane Kirsten Redeña, who topped the examination with a rating of 88.05%. Joining her in the top 10 were Dens Joshua S. Franco, who placed third with a rating of 87.90%; Nadine Andrea B. Barrozo, who ranked fourth with 87.55%; David Daniel B. Abainza, who placed fifth with 87.15%; and Darla Mei S. Buenaseda, who ranked ninth with 86.50%.

The Licensure Examination for Interior Designers is administered by the Board of Interior Design under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) in testing centers across the National Capital Region and Cebu. Under the Interior Design Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10350), interior design is defined as the science and art of planning, specifying, selecting, and organizing surface finishes and materials, including furniture, furnishings, fixtures, and other interior design elements, to create interior spaces that effectively support their intended function, movement, and character.
