The Daster Project with Patis Tesoro: Call for ParticipantsSeptember 1, 2026

The DASTER Project is a collaboration between UP CHE DCTID and fashion designer Patis Tesoro that aims to impart design and craft skills to the younger generation through a hands-on workshop. It also seeks to reimagine the iconic daster—a loose-fitting dress typically worn by women as pambahay (homewear). Known for its airiness, comfort, and ease of movement, the daster is particularly well-suited to the warm, humid climate of the Philippines. In this project, we explore how the familiar daster can be adapted and reinterpreted for everyday life beyond the home, while retaining the qualities that make it practical, comfortable, and suitable to the Philippine climate.

Who can join: Clothing Technology and Interior Design (CTID) students enrolled in the First Semester of AY 2026–2027

Theme: Ginhawa, a Filipino concept rooted in the word “hinga”, meaning breath.”

4. Workshop 1 (Daster making with the CT Faculty): October 19 at CIDL

5. Workshop 2 (with Patis Tesoro): November 30 at San Pablo, Laguna
