BSCT Student Rochelle Ann Sandigan Wins First Place at ADB Inclusive Makeathon 2026 ManilaSeptember 11, 2026

Team SuJa Crew with their Fun-dador Prototype

The Department of Clothing and Textile Technology proudly congratulates Rochelle Ann “Rochi” Sandigan, a fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Clothing Technology (BSCT) student, for winning First Place at the ADB Inclusive Makeathon 2026 Manila.

Rochi was a member of Team 7, SuJa Crew, which developed the winning entry, Fun-dador: Functional Sitting Andador, an assistive seating device designed to support children with disabilities.

The ADB Inclusive Makeathon brought together persons with disabilities, educators, occupational therapists, students, and digital fabrication experts to develop practical solutions that promote accessibility and inclusion. The event highlighted the use of 3D printing and other digital fabrication technologies in creating assistive devices based on the needs of users.

Through the development of Fun-dador, Rochi and her team applied design, materials, fabrication, and problem-solving skills to address a real-world need. The project reflects the value of interdisciplinary collaboration and user-centered design in developing solutions that can improve the daily lives of persons with disabilities.

The team’s achievement demonstrates how students can use their knowledge and creativity to respond to important social needs. For the BSCT program, Rochi’s accomplishment also highlights the broad applications of clothing technology, particularly in design, materials, fabrication, and the development of functional products for diverse users.

The Department of Clothing and Textile Technology is proud of Rochelle Ann Sandigan for this outstanding achievement and for representing the BSCT program in an event that promotes innovation, accessibility, and inclusion.
